Global Christian Foreign School

GCFS is an international school in Korea helps its students reach their academic goals through a rigorous academic environment and through the Christian philosophy. Accredited by the Korean Ministry of Education and as a member of the College Board, Association of Christian Schools International, and Council of International School Administration in Korea, GCFS has been working since 1996 to raise Christian leaders on the international stage. GCFS teachers work with students from kindergarten to the end of their senior year at a faculty to student ratio of 1 to 5.

Academic Standards

GCFS’s curriculum is rooted in the Common Core State Standards, which establishes a rigorous academic program that meets the exacting standards of the United States guidelines as well as international model curriculums. 44 out of 50 departments of education in the United States have adopted Common Core State Standards, demonstrating the success it has in academic development.

Curriculum

Advancement Placement credit is given based on this system, and it allows students the opportunity to experience the rigors of college-level courses. The classroom syllabuses at GCFS range from medieval world history to health and values to physics. As a member of the Association of Christian School International (ACSI), the faculty and staff at GCFS strives to meet the standards of both academic and spiritual growth in their students.

Students Behavioral Development

GCFS emphasizes behavioral development and looks to help their students develop in a way that helps them not only academically, but socially as well. The students at GCFS follow the 3 R’s of behavior standards: Responsible, Respectful, and Ready to Learn. GCFS tries to find new and fun ways to help their students manifest these values through praise and encouragement. The school also tries to cultivate a strong sense of charity and empathy to others through praise reports, recognition, and service days at Compassion.
